“An elegy for Kodak (and film in general)” by Jo Christian Oterhals
Two strange things happened simultaneously today: 1) I read that Kodak had filed for chapter 11, and 2) my oldest son asked what this film roll was. When trying to explain to him how the roll was used, and how the cameras worked, how the film was processed and converted to paper etc., I realised he didn’t have the vocabulary to understand what I was saying. So it dawned on me that the day Kodak died, was the day I realised my sons would probably never understand what this is and most likely never ever find this a relevant technology to use for anything.

““Books are humanity in print.”” by Julia Dávila
Books are the carriers of civilization. Without books, history is silent, literature dumb, science crippled, thought and speculation at a standstill. Without books, the development of civilization would have been impossible. They are engines of change (as the poet said), windows on the world and lighthouses erected in the sea of time. They are companions, teachers, magicians, bankers of the treasures of the mind.Books are humanity in print.― Barbara W. Tuchman

The girl in the red beret -Melbourne City, Australia  This phenomenal shot was taken by CobaGallery:I went back to this location five times trying to capture the people in this scene. I’m very proud of the final piece, basically I just saw a shaft of natural light (just for a moment), a puff of smoke, a parting amongst all the people, and in walked a random girl in a cool red beret - click click click - now thats just pure luck, I took 6 shots in about 3seconds before this moment disappeared. If you are looking for this location it is called Center Point in Flinders Lane, in Melbourne Australia. It has a really interesting cinematic feel to it, I just added the geotag for those that have been interested in the exact location.
